Hi everyone,
We finally arrived in Porto! It feels surreal to be here and really get in the mindset for the walk. Although the plane ride wasn’t the easiest, we didn’t let the day go to waste.
First, we travelled to the FC Porto stadium and museum (priorities!). We went down to the pitch, explored the president’s suite, and -- my favorite part -- I got to lift the Champions League trophy. It’s always been a dream of mine to do something like this, and I feel so good to have done it (and puts me in an invincible mindset for the Camino).
Next, following the soccer theme, Will and I went to a square in the city to watch the Portugal vs. Turkey game. The atmosphere was unmatched and I felt so much Portuguese pride (despite being half-Bulgarian) when they scored 3 times.
To end the day, we all went to a concert of fado (mom dragged us). From the strong sounds of the guitars to the powerful voices of the singers, it was actually a remarkable experience and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s interested.
I’ve been up for about 36 hours at this point, so I think I’m going to go to bed now. I’m excited for what’s to come and will post again tomorrow.
Until then!
